Desperate Housewife here! How much fun did I have at the Bon Appetit Vegas Uncork’d event last night? All part of my quest to re-establish the idea of the 19th century “salon” in my life. I volunteered for Three Square, a non-profit agency that helps feed people through a variety of programs. Lucky me, while working the door I saw Kyle MacLachlan of “Sex and the City” and “Desperate Housewives”. He was attending the event to launch his own wine. He was adorable and very kind in taking a picture.
The event was wonderful – food, drinks and so many great people. A fellow volunteer Victor was nice enough to take pictures for me – for which I promised to take a picture of him with anyone he wanted….the result of which I’ve posted.

Photographer Victor Ziller at Social House Booth
Honestly though I love Social House and their Salmon nigiri was incredible! I was amazed by all the people who treked to Vegas just for this event. There were locals of course! My favorite was Lynn who was out enjoying herself, despite recently having undergone a surgery. She took such delight in telling everyone that she was 63…..and I am sure the delight came because she did not look a day over 50!

Chef Guy Savoy
Of course the fact that I can’t even make cereal does not stop me from appreciating great food and from saying hello and snapping a pic with mega-chefs Guy Savoy and Bradley Ogden.
desire to volunteer with an organization I passionately support. I didn’t expect the event to give anything to me, but it did. I found support for me theory of yesterday, i.e. my life lacks that thrill of “what will happen next” because I don’t put myself out there to connect with the world at large. Believe me, I’m still figuring all of this out. I don’t have all of the answers, but I know that if we continue to put one foot in front of the other together, we will get there! Much love.
